The cameras show Simon Jewel sitting on a couch in a hotel lobby.
Simon Jewel: Who is Simon Jewel? That’s the question that I’ve been asked my entire life. When I first decided that I wanted to be a wrestler I’d have said that I was a man with a lot of desire, passion and dedication and that one day I would make it to the big time. When I first walked into a wrestling training school I had a trainer who told me that I did have what it takes to make it to the big time and all that I had to do was continue to learn from him. The only problem is after my trainer told me that he put me to one side and then went off to focus on his own wrestling career and never looked at me the same way again. As far as he went I was just someone who he believed could never be at the same level that he was at.
Simon Jewel stops talking and thinks.
Simon Jewel: When someone prises you and then just throws you away you feel disrespected and it lights a fire in you. What does the fire represent? It represents a reason to motivate you to keep on going. I could just have given up on my dreams to make it to the big time but I wanted it so badly that I just couldn’t let being betrayed by a trainer stop me from going on. So what did I do? I kept training harder and harder in hope that one day he would see me again and realise that his own ego wasn’t as big as my desire. For me I just wouldn’t have been happy if I didn’t get the last laugh.
Simon Jewel stops talking and takes a deep breath.
Simon Jewel: Now that I’ve made it to the UCWA I want to talk about my time here so far. In my view I feel like I’ve been an embarrassment to myself. I know that I’ve worked hard to make it to this point in my career and now I can just see it all slip away. If it all just slips away then I would lose everything that I’ve worked hard for and I’m not ready to do that. I guess that’s why Chris Andrews decided to give me one last chance to try and impress. Maybe he sees potential in me and wants to see me live up to it. Well let me just tell you something Chris Andrews this time I am ready and this time I really won’t disappoint. Chris I want you to do me a favour, go tell Red Jackson that Simon Jewel has woken up to reality and that’s he’s ready to live up to all of the expectations that a UCWA wrestler has and that he’s not going to go away anytime soon.
Scene fades.
